How I Lost 50 Pounds (It's Probably Not How You Think)

After I had my second child in my early 30's, I was huge. It felt like I could not get the weight off no matter what I did. About five years ago, I was able to lose 50 pounds naturally and keep it off. This is how I did it.
The first and most important thing is to get away from toxic energy. The first step is actually psychological. What does this mean?
Every person, situation, and even tangible item gives off energy. You can't see it, but you can feel it. Trust your feeling when you're around people. Low vibrational people and situations can make you feel sad, depressed, lonely, and stressed. This can all produce cortisol which will cause lack of sleep, lack of motivation and weight gain! This can definitely be caused by a toxic job and can often times include people in your own family or inner circle. Low vibrational and toxic people can make you feel stuck and unmotivated which can block weight loss. This could also cause you to overeat, drink alcohol, and not be motivated to exercise. Feel people's vibration and energy and avoid those who drag you down. I understand that it is easier said than done. But energy is everything. Life is energy. And if someone is draining yours, they're sabotaging your weight loss journey.
The second one is more obvious, but you may not know completely why. You have to stop drinking alcohol, cold turkey. Journalist Alex Jones recently stopped drinking and lost over 60 pounds in nine months. Drinking alcohol is a vicious cycle. Besides the high number of calories in alcohol, it also drains your energy. The next day after drinking, you'll be a lot less motivated to exercise. And you know, that when you drink (especially excessively) you don't want to eat salad. Your body craves fatty, high caloric foods.
Once you stop drinking, two things will happen: your body will start getting more in equilibrium. It will start craving vegetables, fruit and all things organic which will make the weight fall off and make your body a lot healthier and resilient. It will reject fast food and high caloric foods. (Of course, you'll want a cheat day every now and then, but your body won't crave this type of food most of the time.) Additionally, when you start being mentally clearer and eating healthy, your body will crave movement and exercise. Instead of laying on the couch hung over and eating Wendy's, your body will crave to be outside!
Third is walking. You don't need a fancy gym membership. If you haven't exercised in a long time, start slow. When I first started walking, I would only walk around my neighborhood for about 10 minutes. That's all I could do! I slowly increased the time I walked and got up to 60 minutes in the morning and 60 minutes in the evening. Yes, two hours of walking when I only started out being able to do 10! Your body will start craving the exercising. Your body wants to move!
(Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional.) The next one is a little weird (and gross), but it totally works for me. Over time, your body can accumulate waste in your intestinal track and not release it. It can collect and harden like papier mache. Some people have called this "mucoid plaque." Some doctors deny this exists, but I can attest it does. You may have seen people with skinny arms and legs but a protruding gut. This is most likely the papier mache, mucoid plaque substance. Besides a protruding stomach, it can cause skin issues like rashes, it can also cause anxiety and headaches. It can block your body from absorbing nutrients appropriately. It needs to be released!
I did two things to remedy this. The first was a series of colonics. If you don't know what colonics are, it's normally done at a health and wellness center and involves flushing warm water through your intestinal track for about 30 minutes with the goal of helping your body to release waste. (I recommend you go onto Youtube and search for "colonics" for more information on the treatment. Some doctors warn against this alternative practice, so I suggest you seek medical advice especially if you have an underlying health condition.)
After each treatment, I not only felt cleaner internally but more mentally clear. I did a series of six treatments spaced about two weeks apart. The colonics also helped me to get rid of cravings to such things as sugar and carbs.
The other alternative I used and still continue to use on a quarterly basis is called the So Easy, Three-Day Cleanse. (This is not a paid advertisement. It really works!) This product is different from other cleansing products on the market. (Trust me, I've tried a lot of them.) Apparently, it uses palm tree oil which helps your body to release the plaque. After three days, you can feel the difference. You will release inches and even feet of plaque. You'll wonder how you ever existed without it. Your stomach will be noticeably flatter. It will feel as if you've lost pounds and inches in just three days. I swear, this is not a gimmick. I have done this cleanse a number of times and each time I feel 1000% more clear, healthier and skinnier.
Lastly but most importantly, is to have a spiritual focus. I don't care what religion you subscribe to. Our culture's focus has turned to a material-based focus. However, this can lead to unnecessary stress and pressure which won't help you lose weight. Focus on meditation. Start slow. Connect with nature. Go outside. It will dramatically reduce stress which will help you lose weight!
To recap, I did the following things to lose 50 pounds five years ago and keep it off: (1) create healthy boundaries from people and things that give off toxic energy; (2) stop drinking alcohol; (3) walk!; (4) do a colon cleanse either through colonics or the So Easy, Three Day Cleanse; and (5) incorporate a spiritual practice that connects you to nature and away from the material rat race to reduce stress and lose that weight!
